Captains Prize

Time sheet for Captain’s prize (Mr. Michael Landers) is now posted on the notice board.  The main event of our golfing year takes place over three days – Friday 2^nd July, Saturday 3^rd July, with the top 90 players qualifying for the final round on Sunday 4^th July.

Irish Mixed Foursomes

Having secured a famous victory over last year’s finalists Tramore on Saturday morning, our mixed team lost out narrowly to the eventual winners Clonmel on Sunday.  Well done to team managers Marie and Pat and to all the team on a great performance.

Belvedere Trophy

Having remained unbeaten at county level for almost three years, Edward Hickey’s Belvedere team bowed out of this year’s competition at the hands of Waterford Castle on Thursday last.  By any standards, our record in this event must stand among the best by any of the participating clubs.  We express our congratulations and thanks to Edward and all his teams for the many exciting moments they have provided during their long reign as county champions.  With our Tuesday High Handicap competition growing in popularity all augurs well for the future, and no doubt Edward is already keeping a close watch on proceedings with a view to recapturing the trophy next year.

Club Fourball

Entry sheet for the club Fourball is now posted on the board.  Please enter your name, handicap, and the relevant entry fee before this weekend.

Club Mixed Foursomes

The draw for the club mixed foursomes is posted on the notice board.  Second round matches must be completed by Sunday 4th July.  The onus is on the top pairing in each match to make contact with their opponents. Any problems contact Malcolm Ashby on 0861022750

Fred Daly Trophy

Carrick on Suir golf club has been chosen to host the Munster quarterfinal of the Fred Daly Trophy.  Clonmel will provide tough opposition but no doubt, Justin who relishes a tough contest, will have his young guns well prepared for the occasion. This fixture takes place on Sunday 27^th June at 11.30am and as usual supporters are most welcome.

Lady Captain’s Prize

We wish our popular lady captain Marie the best of luck at the weekend when the ladies take centre stage as they compete for the coveted prize.

New GUI Smart Card

There are still a number of uncollected cards in the office.  Members are kindly requested to collect outstanding new cards immediately.

High Handicap 13-hole Stableford

The Tuesday high Handicap continues each Tuesday during the summer and is now a 13-hole competition. All handicap levels are welcome and we hope to see lots of our new members, where you can meet new friends and improve your game

Al Eile Qualifier

In association with Al Eile each Wednesday you can qualify for the Masters Challenge 2010. Scoring will be based on a player’s best card from Dungarvan, Gold Coast and West Waterford. The competition runs until Friday 18^th June with the final in Mount Juliet in June.
