Captains Prize – Mr. Michael Landers

The qualifying round of 18-hole stroke took place on Friday and Saturday 2nd and 3rd July, with the leading 90 qualifiers competing again on Sunday 4th July over another 18 holes. The presentation of prizes took place in the Clubhouse on Sunday night and members were out in force to support Michael and his family. A memorable night was had by all to round off a very successful Captain’s weekend.

Congratulations

Seamus Power added another victory to his long list by winning the Senior Scratch Cup at Faithlegg on Sunday last.

 

Senior Cup

Our senior cup team under the management of John Carroll set out in defense of their Munster title at Faithlegg Golf club on Saturday next 10th July.  Dungarvan provide the opposition in the first round. We wish John and his team the best of luck, and as always supporters are welcome. Tee off is at 8.40 am.

 

Tour of the Lakes Competition

Twelve members from West Waterford were part of a large contingent who traveled to Killarney Golf Club last week to compete in this three day event.  Playing at Lackabane, Mahoney’s Point, and Killeen courses, our members acquitted themselves admirably with Edward Hickey and Ollie Broderick taking home the Crystal.

Scramble

Next Scramble will take place this Friday 9th July at 6pm with shotgun start at 6.30. Remember this is a mixed scramble and new members are especially welcome.  The usual afters will take place in the clubhouse.

 

Al Eile Qualifier

This is an 18-hole Stableford open competition held on each Wednesday during the summer months.  As well as the weekly prizes entrants can qualify for the Grand Final which will be held on Sunday 17th of October 2010.


High Handicap 13-hole Stableford

The Tuesday high Handicap continues each Tuesday during the summer and is now a 13-hole competition. All handicap levels are welcome and we hope to see lots of our new members, where you can meet new friends and improve your game

 

New GUI Smart Card

There are still a number of uncollected cards in the office.  Members are kindly requested to collect outstanding new cards immediately.

 

Junior Coaching

A Summer Coaching course is running from Wednesday 30th June to Tuesday 6th July – from 3.30-5pm each day. The course covers all aspects of the game and is aimed at players who are ambitious to play to a higher standard. Entries will be taken at the office and the cost is €50 per junior.
