Winter League 2010

Sunday saw the conclusion of round 1 of our Winter league. Despite the early morning frost at the weekend, the majority of those on the timesheet managed to compete for their respective teams. For those who have not yet managed to play the initial round, the good news is that they can still enter by playing in any of the remaining qualifying rounds and paying the initial entry fee. Round 2 runs from Wednesday 3^rd February to Sunday 7^th February for one week only. Team captains are once again reminded to contact their team members, especially those who have not yet played.

Killeagh GAA Golf society

Killeagh GAA golf society held the Margaret Rochford trophy on Monday 25^th January for the seventeenth year running. The winner was Patricia Treacy with 45pts.

The Fitzgibbon trophy was also played with Shay Rochford winning the title with 45 pts.

A large sum of €560 was raised for charity aid cancer treatment. Thanks to all.

The Sunshine Golf Classic

Killester Travel has kindly agreed to sponsor a fantastic sunshine holiday to the value of €500 for each member of the winning team. An open meeting for all club members will be held on the 10^th of February in the clubhouse at 7.30pm. We are looking for members who will help to organize the event and would be grateful if you could attend.

Junior Notes

Junior midterm competitions will take place on Wednesday 17^th February at 10am and Friday 19^th at 10am.

South East League

The South East league is commencing on Sunday 14th March. Group B consists of: Dungarvan, Gold Coast, Mitchelstown and West Waterford.

List is posted on the notice board in clubhouse for anybody in correct handicap categories to sign up now.

Brickey Golf Society

The Brickey golf society is on this Saturday 6^th February at Dungarvan Golf Club. Names will be taken at 10.15 and tee off at 10.30am. This will be the tenth year of the Brickey society.

The South East Alliance

The South East alliance for low handicaps and pros will host their next outing in Kilkenny on Sunday 14^th February from 8.15am to 9.30am. For more information contact T W Murphy on 0863521070

Deise Golf Winter Open

The Deise Golf Winter open is an 18-hole single Stableford competition open to both male and female golfers. Entry fee is €15.00. Dates are:

1^st –7^th Feb Dungarvan Golf Club, 8^th – 14^th Feb Faithlegg Golf Club, 15^th –21^st Feb Gold Coast Golf Club, 22^nd –28^th Feb Tramore golf club, 1^st- 7^th March West Waterford Golf Club.
