Power forges further clear
Seamus Power recorded a third round of 70 to forge nine strokes clear with a round to play in the Irish Youths Amateur Open Championship at Lisburn Golf Club.
The West Waterford man birdied the first hole and the index one seventh on his way to an outward nine of 34 strokes. He recorded further birdies on the 14th and 18th and his only drop-shots of the day were on the 10th and 17th.
Power is well on his way to becoming only the second player in the history of the event to win the title on three separate occasions, following John McHenry’s wins in 1980, 1981 and 1985.
